COOLOCK a parish and village in the barony of the same name, Dublin county, four and three-quarter miles N.N.E, from the General Post Office, Dublin, comprising an area of 1,734 acres, of which five are occupied by the village. Population of parish, 947; of village, 260, inhabiting 38 houses. It is situated on the road to Malahide.

It is studded with handsome seats and pretty villas, most of which command fine views of the bay of Dublin, and surrounding country. The Church in the village, dedicated to St. Brandon, is a neat edifice. The Roman Catholic Chapel is a very pretty building, in the later style, with a belfry over the entrance. The Parochial School, built by Sir Compton Domville, is maintained by subscription. It has a Constabulary Police Station, &c.
