The following Deputies were nominated to form the Ministry :- Desmond Fitzgerald (External Affairs); Kevin O'Higgins (Home Affairs); Earnan de Blaghd (Local Government) Patrick Hogan (Agriculture); Joseph McGrath (Industry and Commerce); Eoin Macneill (Education); General Ristard O Maolchatha (Defence); J.J. Walsh (P.M.G.), and Eamon Duggan and Finian Lynch, Ministers without Portfolios.
